About me
Hello, welcome to my website!

I'm Anna Riva. I'm a 3D generalist with a focus on lighting and look development. I graduated this year in 3D Animation and Visual Effects at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, but I was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil.

Like most people, I grew up watching animations. They were always my favorite genre, and even while I grew older, I never stopped watching animated movies and shows. Even though it was my favorite media, I never expected to major in animation. Especially 3D animation, since I didn’t know there was a way for me to be a part of this industry.

For a long time, I thought I couldn’t be a creative person. I was scared I wouldn't be able to "create a style", but I slowly learned that all that meant was for me to express myself through my art, portraying how I perceived the world. I started in art through abstract drawings, photography, and videography. When I finally found out I could study CG, it felt like a perfect blend of math, science, and art, three things I enjoy. On top of being able to create the animations I have always loved.
I always liked creating pleasing images and manipulating colors to develop unique visuals, so it was a natural path for me to follow through lighting, compositing, and look development. I just started my journey as a professional, but I am happy with all the projects I have already been able to be a part of. Tackling pipelines through animated features, commercials, and 3D design.

I’m excited to keep evolving and developing my skills as an artist, always looking for new opportunities and exploring this medium in a different way in every project! :)
